That's a great shot of Monkey Knife Fight. Of course, the best work of graffiti that I ever saw was the fabled "I Love Rory" delicately carved into the side walk on 24th street. I can still recall the fine broad strokes, the gently curve of the lettering... It was a towering achievment. But beauty is fleeting in this world. Recently, PG&E broke up the side walk and destroyed "I Love Rory." It now exists only in my memories.
Monkey Knife Fight is a group of musicians who are always pushing the limits, and their polyrhythmic interactive funk jazz is what everyone in the Bay Area is talking about. It is original, creative, genre-defying music that can please fans on the dance floor as easily as those seated at a jazz club.
Three men: ddt/pdx; JM; and the Artist Formerly Known as Y.E.L.R.A. Three men who scour San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; and the four corners of the world for the best stencils, stickers, and other forms ephemeral street art. Their mission is to use one picture per post and apply it to social commentary. Or something like that.
